Around 30 students from different colleges were assaulted, police sources told Express.A woman among the intoxicated students, gave the activists the slip. Four students namely Swaroop, Sandesh, Mithun and Rahul have been admitted to a private hospital. Farmhouse manager Dayanand accused the activists of disrupting a birthday party and not a rave party. He accused 23 of the activists, including Bajrang Dal city convener Sharan Pumpwell and his friends Ganesh, Bharath Thokkottu, Uday, Munna, Dinesh, Pusparaj, of beating up the students without any provocation.Commenting on ganja and ecstasy drugs found at the party, Dayanand accused the activists of planting them there to justify their action. He also alleged that the activists damaged furniture and other belongings worth Rs 3 lakh in the house. When contacted, Sharan Pumpwell told Express that he was informed about the presence of policemen at the farmhouse over the phone and when he reached there, the police added his name to the list of accused. He revealed that the building owner was unaware of the illegal activities, but the manager often leased the farmhouse for such parties.Sharan dared the police to expose the truth by conducting a medical check up. He was confident that the students would test positive for drug consumption. Before registering a case, the police should investigate the drug abuse, he urged. Mangalore Commissioner of Police Seemant Kumar Singh said there was no need of any test as students were found in an intoxicated state. He said the activists were arrested as they had taken law into their hands.
