HYDERABAD: With DGP K Aravinda Rao and his batchmate in the 1977 batch, M Bhaskar superannuating on June 30, following which two vacancies will be created in the rank of DGs, the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) is likely to clear the names of two officers in the 1978 batch to be promoted as DG rank officers.The officers are M Ratan and Sk Jayachandra, both of whom are presently Additional DGP rank officers.Jayachandra retires in December this year while Ratan next year.Sources told Express that the DPC, in which chief secretary SV Prasad and Aravinda Rao are members, will meet on Wednesday to clear the names of Ratan and Jayachandra.Though the DPC was to meet on Tuesday, Aravinda Rao was away in Karimnagar due to which it has been postponed for Wednesday.Simultaneously, the DPC will also clear the names of 1993 batch IPS officers, presently DIGs, to be promoted as IGPs. With this development, the post of Vijayawada police commissioner will fall vacant as the present incumbent Amit Garg is a 93 batch officer.The DPC will also clear the names of officers in the 2007 batch who will be upgraded to the senior scale.
