HYDERABAD: As expected, senior IPS officer J V Ramudu has expressed his unwillingness to head the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Ishrat Jahan encounter case of Gujarat.Sources in the know of developments told Express that hours after the Ahmedabad High Court appointed Ramudu, presently posted as MD of AP Police Housing Corporation as SIT chief, state government received a letter from the SIT requesting to take Ramudu's consent. It is learnt that Ramudu had informed the state government that he was not willing to take up the job and the government wrote back to the MHA. Sources said that besides writing that he was unwilling for the job, the government mentioned that Ramudu, a 1981 batch IPS officer, recently underwent a major surgery.
