HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday asked roads and buildings department officials to prepare a comprehensive report and an action plan for each road project to be completed this year and next year and the requirement of funds.Reddy was reviewing the progress of the work on four-laning of the Rajiv Rahadari stretch from Shamirpet to Mancherial at a meeting. He asked the roads and building department to complete all ongoing road works as per schedule and national standards. It was decided at the meeting to provide service roads to 20 villages and to provide passes for Pragnapur, Kukunoorpalli, Sultanabad, Peddapalli and Godavarikhani villages.The chief minister also asked the officials to examine the feasibility of constructing a flyover at the Alagnur Junction, to improve standard horizontal sharp curves by acquiring additional land if necessary and to provide avenue plantation along the road margins on either side. He wanted all roads lined with quality plantations and have signages, proper markings and lighting.He also asked the officials to take into consideration the issues raised by ministers, MPs, MLAs, MLCs and other public representatives with regard to four-laning of the 297-km-long Hyderabad-Karimnagar-Ramagundam road at a cost of Rs 1,358.19 crore. The viability gap fund approved by the Union government is Rs 271.54 crore. The road is expected to be completed by 2013.The road start at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad and joins NH-16 at Mancherial, a distance of 235 km, after passing through Ranga Reddy, Medak, Karimnagar and Adilabad districts.
