Raids at ex-DMK minister Ponmudis properties

CHENNAI: The vigilance officials on Tuesday morning raided properties of former DMK minister K Ponmudi and his relatives. The raids were carried out at 15 places in Chennai and Villupuram.This came after complaints of disproportionate assets against the DMK leader, who arrested on August 31 on charges of land grab. He was later refused bail by the Madras High Court.The leader has been accused of allegedly misusing his position to secure land belonging to a state transport corporation society for an educational trust, in which his mother-in-law is a trustee.
