Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday said the Centre should evolve a system to ensure that no party received more than the electricity quota limit for them.
"The Centre should develop a system to disallow parties drawing power more than the allocated quota," he told reporters here.
He was replying to a query on Northern, Eastern and North-eastern grid failure which triggered a massive power blackout across the country.
Kumar said Tuesday's situation developed in the wake of some states 'over-drawing' electricity.
The Chief Minister claimed Bihar was drawing electricity within the allocated limit of around 1400 MW.
Kumar said it was expected that electricity supply would be restored from 9 pm and termed it as a calamity-like situation where "people should maintain patience."
He suggested that emergency services be accorded priority soon after restoration of power.
