PARADIP: Ancillary work for Posco in Gadakujang has been suspended for two days and would resume from Monday. Though the district administration has been carrying out Posco work in Gadakujang panchayat smoothly, it has not been successful in Nuagaon panchayat. Sources said seven village committees have been formed by villagers to protest felling of trees for the Posco project. The pro-Posco villagers here are demanding fulfillment of their six-point charter of demands. On Friday, they had detained four IDCO officials and one Posco official at Balishai under Nuagaon panchayat protesting forcible felling of trees in the last two days.Hundreds of aggrieved villagers under the banner of United Action Committee (UAC) alleged that theofficials were entering their area to demarcate the boundary of Nuagaon through the GPS system and to complete verification work of the forest area to chop down trees. They are on an agitation for over a week over their charter of demands.
