Gurgaon: The Police on Monday detained a few people in connection with the gangrape of a five-year-old, which happened in Gurgaon last week. Though the identities of the accused are unconfirmed by the survivor, her nephew, who was with the child when she went missing, has identified them.
Police had launched a massive manhunt to nab the accused and officials in plain clothes were also surveying the area to catch them. The five-year-old was found abandoned near a metro station after being gangraped by three men on Saturday.
The girl, who was shifted to New Delhi's Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday evening with severe genital injuries, is now stable and out of danger. The child has had two surgeries on her.
Earlier, the police had released a sketch of the accused and also announced a reward of Rs 50,000 for anybody who comes up with any information them.
Police say at around 12:30 pm on Saturday, the accused lured the minor away with a promise of food and raped near the Bristol Hotel in Gurgaon. The minor's 12-year-old cousin, who was with her, reported her missing to the police.
"My daughter had gone out when a man took her away and raped her," said the father of the girl. The police found the girl unconscious near a metro pillar at 2 pm.
