Piravom to get a new private bus stand

PIRAVOM: The Civil Supplies Minister and Piravom MLA T M Jacob has said that a proposal of a new private bus stand was included in the 100-day programme of the government.A 3.25 acre of panchayat land will be used for the purpose. He said that the Elanji drinking-water project and Choondy drinking-water project will be completed in the period. “The inauguration of completed Water Authority Inspection Bungalow and Kakkad-Nechoor Kadav Bridge will be carried out during the period,” the minister said. "A new hanging bridge across the Muvattupuzha river at Kalamboor will be constructed with Rs 1.30 crore,” he added.The minister said that the Kakkad Water Treatment Plant will be renovated and the surface of Oliyappuram-Koothattukulam road will be strengthened. For the smooth functioning of Piravom KSRTC depot, the strength of staff will be increased and inter district buses will begin services. A special meeting of the KSRTC officials will be arranged on Tuesday to discuss about the matter, Jacob said.
