Pipili gangrape: 4th accused nabbed

BHUBANESWAR: The Crime Branch (CB) on Thursday wrapped up the arrests in the gangrape incident when i t nabbed the fourth accused __ Sukant Pradhan __ from near Bhubaneswar.Sukant is the younger brother of prime accused Prashant Pradhan.With his arrest, all the four, named in the FIR, have been held. CB will produce him before a magistrate in Pipili on Friday and seek his remand.At present, Prashant and Premananda, another accused, are in CB’s remand while another accused Guna has been returned to judicial custody.Meanwhile, Pipili remained tense after local MLA and Minister Maharathy resigned.Both DIG DS Kutte and SP AN Sinha camped in Pipili. No untoward incident was, however, reported during the day.Earlier in the day, Additional Director- General of Police, CB, Abhay visited Pipili where he reviewed the case and charted the future course of action. A CB team has been stationed in the town to keep track of the developments and gather evidence in connection with the case.
