KOZHIKODE: Veteran Communist ideologue Berlin Kunhanandan Nair has come up with fresh revelations against CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan that the latter had approached businessman Captain Krishnan Nair to arrange an engineering seat for his daughter in a self-financing college way back in 2000.In his latest article in Mathrubhumi Weekly, Kunhanandan Nair alleges that Pinarayi Vijayan had asked him to contact Krishnan Nair at the AKG Centre in Thiruvananthapuram and requested him to arrange a seat at the Amritha Engineering College in Coimbatore as his daughter did not have the required mark to earn an admission in merit quota. The expelled CPM veteran, in the article, says that though he reminded him about the possible criticism, which might spring up against gaining admission in a self -financing college amidst the widespread protest launched across the state by the SFI and the DYFI against the allocation of self-financing colleges, Pinarayi insisted Kunhanandan Nair to move on.He also adds that Krishnan Nair arranged admission in the college.Kunhanandan Nair assisted Pinarayi and his family to Coimbatore. Pinarayi, his wife and daughter were the VIP guests of another businessman in Coimbatore, who later owned a major share in Kairali channel. Kunhanandan Nair says that the incident disappointed him a lot and he lost all his expectations and outlook about Pinarayi and hence ended his service at the AKG Centre on July 21, 2000, after bringing Pinarayi’s wife and daughter to Thirvananthapuram as Pinarayi left to Delhi for CPM Central Committee meeting. The CPM leader opines that the CPM state secretary’s journey for fetching an engineering seat to his daughter was, in fact, also a faulty course of a Communist leader towards the enticements of the corporates.
