Four Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were killed and four security personnel were martyred in the encounter continuing for over 13 hours.

Terror struck Pathankot air base as around six to seven terrorists entered the station and fired indiscriminately. Four Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorists were killed and four security personnel were martyred in the encounter continuing for over 13 hours.

It all started on Thursday around 9 PM when Superintendent of Police Salwinder Singh left home to go to village Talur to meet a self-styled godman. In the meantime, a taxi driver c was stabbed and his car taken by terrorists around 10:30 PM.

The car was later found in a damaged condition.

Around 11:30 PM, while Salwinder Singh was returning from the same route, he was stopped by terrorists at Kolian Mor and was abducted. The terrorists were in military uniform.

Around 2 AM on Friday, Salwinder Singh was thrown out of the car by terrorists. As he told about the story of his abduction by five terrorist carrying heavy ammunitions, not many believed it.

His car was found in bushes near Akalgarh at 6 AM. The case was registered at 9 PM by SSP RK Bakshi.

Ikagar Singh's body was recovered in the morning and people started protesting claiming him to be the victim of terror attack.

The police said there was no link between SP's abduction and driver's killing.

At 5 PM, search operation started for terrorists and in next two hours a high-level meeting of officials took place in pathankot. The security was beefed up in the area.

At 3:30 AM on Saturday, terrorists stormed the Air Force base and opened indiscriminate fire. The encounter is still underway and the aerial surveillance is continuing

The security forces acted on the advance intelligence and National Security Guard teams were sent in advance on Friday evening to handle it. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval is coordinating the whole operation.

The sources said the JeM has planned much bigger attack than 2008 Mumbai terror strikes.

Garuda commandos amd Army troops are currently in action. A large number of policemen have also been moved in to the location. All northern airfields have been put on high alert.
