THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The hearing of controversial palmolein case that was going on before Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Special Court has been transferred to Thrissur Vigilance Special Court. The Vigilance Judge transferred the case on Friday following a favourable order from a High Court Administrative Committee in this regard that came a few days ago.  Judge P K Haneefa had rescued himself from the further hearing of the case after controversies popped up after he ordered a further investigation into the role of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy in the palmolein import deal.  Besides the palmolein case, the hearing of two other related cases pertaining to alleged contempt of court against Chief Whip and MLA P C George for questioning the impartiality of the Vigilance Judge, were also transferred to Thrissur Vigilance Special Court. The Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Special Court was scheduled to hear the cases on Saturday. The petitions were separately filed by All India Lawyers’ Union secretary B S Anilkumar and advocate Muttada C Balachandran.
