Pakistani Terror Groups Have Shifted Strategy in J&K after Collapse of OGW System in Valley: Intel Sources | Exclusive
Fresh infiltration in Jammu and pushing more towards Poonch-Rajouri are also seen as an attempt to rattle the security setup and agencies are not ruling out a China connection

Fresh infiltration is being done by Pakistan-based terror groups in Jammu to create pressure on Indian forces and to engage them more, top intelligence sources told CNN-News18 on Wednesday.

The Pakistani terror groups have created a new strategy after their overground worker (OGW) system in the Valley collapsed, they added.

They also feel that Muslims who have supported them on the ground are arrested after any attack, the sources said.

Recently, it was found that two terrorists who were neutralised were asking for food from locals.

This suggests, said the sources, that they recently infiltrated and were without any support on the ground.

Agencies feel this is a fresh infiltration possibly of around 10-12 terrorists who are moving in groups of three to four.

An earlier group of Lashkar-e-Taiba commander Sajid Jatt is of 14-16 who are already settled in the Poonch Rajouri area and have deep knowledge of the terrain and local support also, said sources.

Pushing more towards Poonch-Rajouri is also seen as an attempt to rattle the security setup and agencies are not ruling out a China connection.

As part of their new strategy, the terrorists are now willing to attack tourists and pilgrims, said the sources.

They feel this will put more pressure on security forces and the new government at the Centre will also be challenged, intelligence sources said.

They want New Delhi to make a mistake and remove troops from the China borders so that India is engaged more in Kashmir and Jammu with more challenges in Ladakh, the sources said.

What's your reaction?
