Pak offers India full support to probe Mumbai attacks
Pakistan says it will investigate all information shared by India.

Islamabad: The Pakistan government says it will investigate all information shared by India on the Mumbai attack of November 26 that killed 172 people, most of whom were foreigners.

It has offered full co-operation with the Indian government and says it is ready to set up a joint investigative commission to probe the attacks.

Statements coming from Pakistan indicate that the government has directed all departments to continue investigation based on information shared by India and says action will be taken within the ambit of Pakistani law.

These statement comes on the heels of reports that Islamabad has arrested the mastermind behind the Mumbai attack.

Zakkiur Rehman Lakvi of the Lashkar-E-Toiba (LeT), described by India as the mastermind of the Mumbai attack, was arrested along with six others during a raid on a Lashkar camp outside Muzaffarabad on Sunday.

However, there is no confirmation by the Pakistani authorities of this.

Meanwhile, Lashkar chief Hafiz Sayied has sharply criticised his organisation being targeted.

Some Pakistani journalists say there is no basis to reports that the Lashkar is being targeted by the authorities.

During the raid, there were reports of explosions, suggesting destruction of whatever infrastructure was present.

It is widely acknowledged that the Lashkar has moved most of its cadres to Waziristan and other parts bordering Afghanistan.

The US has also confirmed that the ISI did provide intelligence and training support to the LeT for the Mumbai attacks.

The officials said the ISI had strengthened its links with the Lashkar.
