GULBARGA: Several organisations of Gulbarga which were agitating separately for the amendment to Article 371 of the Constitution in favour of Hyderabad-Karnataka region have joined hands with the initiative taken by seer of Sulphul Mutt Sri Mahant Shivacharya and have decided to call for a H-K Bandh on January 24.Earlier only Hyderabad-Karnataka Horata Samithi (HKHS) gave the call for H-K Bandh, comprising of Bidar, Gulbarga, Yadgir, Raichur and Koppal districts on January 24. On Wednesday evening, Horata Samithi president Vaijinath Patil went to Sulphul Mutt to seek the blessings and support of the seer.The seer took the initiative to invite the leaders of different organisations on Thursday morning and stressed on the need of united struggle for achieving the goal. Responding to the seers advice, the organisations decided to unite in pressurising the Union government for amending the Article 371.Briefing about the decisions taken in the meeting, HKHS president Vaijinath Patil and Hyderabad-Karnataka Horatagala Samanvaya Samithi (HKHSS) secretary Lakshman Dasti said that all the organisations decided to give a call for bandh of business organisations, schools and colleges on January 24 to bring pressure on the Union government to amend the Article in the ensuing budget session without fail. They also gave a call to the state, Central government and semi-government employees and those working in private organisations to apply for a leave on January 24 to express their solidarity.On January 24, a rally would be taken out from Super Market to Sardar Patil Circle in Gulbarga as well as at the district headquarters of all the five districts of the H-K region, they said.
