HYDERABAD: Students of the Osmania University on Saturday boycotted classes protesting the arrest of TRS politburo member Cheruku Sudhakar and took a pledge not to sacrifice their lives for separate Telangana, observing the day as Pratigya Diwas. As part of the call given by the OU Joint Action Committee, hundreds of students boycotted classes wearing black badges protesting Sudhakar's arrest under the stringent sections of law. They termed the arrest as undemocratic and aimed at suppressing the separate T movement. “A rally was taken out to Arts College where an oath was administered to students not to sacrifice their lives for T,” OUJAC spokesperson Thirumani Kondal said. Boycott of classes and oath was taken at all colleges and universities across the region, he claimed. On December 3 in 2009, Srikantha Chary, a Telangana activist had sacrificed his life for cause of separate Telangana.
