Ophthalmic meet kicks off

A four-day national level seminar on continuing medical education, titled Kalpavriksha, was inaugurated by Pankaj Kumar Bansal, Additional Secretary to Government, Health and Family Welfare Department, here on Thursday.

The event is an initiative of the Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital and Eye Research Centre, and is attended by about 150 doctors from across the nation and post-graduate students of ophthalmology.

Speaking on the occasion, Bansal said: “The event presents an opportunity to participants to stay updated on the latest developments in ophthalmology and technology, and trends in treatments of various eye ailments.”

During the event, a live surgery from the Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital will be shown. A mock examination - set on the lines of Diplomate National Board (DNB) pattern of National Board of Examination - will feature on the final day.
