BANGALORE: The office of the Welfare Commissioner on Saturday released a Press notification requiring all companies coming under the Karnataka Labour Welfare Fund Act, 1965 to remit contribution to the Welfare Fund at the rate of `18 from each employee, including supervisory and management staff.The contribution is to be made along with a statement in form ‘D’ prescribed under the act.This notification also includes shops, commercial establishments, charitable trusts and societies registered under the Karnataka Societies Registration Act, 1960 employing fifty or more employees during the year.Employers are also directed to pay all unpaid accumulation dues like salary, bonus and fines, as required under section 7 along with statement in form ‘B’.The last date for payment of all compulsory contributions and previous arrears is January 15, 2012..Employers found contravening these provisions will be prosecuted have to pay a fine ranging from `500-1,000 and a jail time between 3 months to 1 year.Payments are to be made via crossed cheque or DD to the Welfare Commissioner, Karmika Kalyana Bhavan.Employers may also contact the office at 080- 23570266 or visit www.karnatakalabourwelfare.com
