New Delhi: While there are a raft of Android devices expected from Samsung, HTC, Sony, Huawei, ZTE and first time from Nokia at this year's MWC, there are few chances of new Windows Phone devices making to the event. If a report from Re/code is to be believed, the launch of new Windows Phone devices at the Barcelona event is very unlikely.
While Microsoft has an event scheduled for Sunday, the company is being presumed to talk only in "broad strokes" about its future endeavours and what it has planned for its future Windows Phone releases. Microsoft is unlikely to make any major announcement at its February 23 event, the company, instead, is expected to reserve its major Windows Phone announcements for its its own Build developer event, which will take place in April in San Francisco. Microsoft is expected to unveil its new Windows Phone 8.1 platform at its event in April.
Even Nokia, which Microsoft is soon going to acquire, will debut its first-ever Android handset at Mobile World Congress and is unlikely to unveil any new Windows phone at the event.
Both Microsoft and Nokia declined to comment on their plans for MWC 2014, said the report.
