No silver dollars in Tirumala from Friday

TIRUMALA: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has decided to dispense with the presentation of three gm silver dollars to devotees participating in Kalyanotsavam from February 3, due to administrative reasons. The move, however, only be for a temporary period. As the tender process to procure the silver dollars is underway, the TTD has decided to go with temporary dispensation of the coins till the procurement process is completed. The pilgrims are therefore requested to co-operate with the TTD during the interim, according to a release.
