Nirupama's clothes sent for forensic test
The clothes of journalist Nirupama Pathak, a victim of alleged honour killing, were Tuesday seized from her home.

Hazaribagh: Nirupama's boyfriend Priyabhanshu Ranjan has sought a CBI probe into the alleged honour killing case. He will move court on Tuesday seeking a CBI inquiry as also cancellation of the FIR against him. A police team from Koderma was in Delhi to question Priyabhanshu.

Nirupama's mother has already been arrested on charges of allegedly murdering her daughter because she didn't approve of her relationship with Priyabhanshu who's from another caste.

Meanwhile, the clothes of Nirupama were seized from her home and sent for forensic test, police said Tuesday. The clothes have been sent to forensic laboratory in Ranchi.

Earlier, the police had moved the court seeking permission to collect the clothes for investigation. Twenty-two-year-old Pathak, a journalist working with a business daily in New Delhi, was found dead on April 29 in her parents' house.

Her mother Subha Pathak has said it was a case of suicide, but postmortem report revealed that she died of asphyxia due to smothering. A 12-week-old foetus was also found during autopsy.

Shiv Prakash Singh, inspector of police in the Tilaiya police station in Koderma district said: "We have recorded statements of witnesses. We have got some call details. Laptop and mobile are being examined. The investigation is still underway but we are hopeful of solving this case."
