According to a senior Nayati Healthcare official, the aim is to provide quality and affordable medical facilities to those residing in smaller cities.

New Delhi: Former corporate lobbyist Niira Radia is back in business after a few years of self imposed exile. She is now opening a chain of super speciality hospitals under the banner of Nayati Healthcare in tier II and tier III towns of the country.

The first Nayati Hospital is coming up at Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. Tata Chairman emeritus Ratan Tata will be inaugurating the hospital on February 28, says the invitation card.

According to a senior Nayati Healthcare official, the aim is to provide quality and affordable medical facilities to those residing in smaller cities.

"People travel to big metros like Delhi and Mumbai because they want high quality medical care. Right now such facilities are not available in smaller cities. The aim of Nayati Healthcare is to provide the same in smaller cities so that there is less financial and emotional burden on the people. We are not a charitable institution. We will provide the best possible medical facilities at affordable cost to the people right in their city," said Shivani Sharma, Vice President, Marketing Communications, Nayati Healthcare.

After Mathura the next hospital will come up at Amritsar in the Punjab followed by Nagpur in Maharashtra.

One of the focus areas of treatment would be cancer as it is still one of the major killers and not many people are aware that the disease can be cured if detected at an early stage, said Sharma.
