RPF, Lucknow’s Child Welfare Committee rescue 13 child labourers
Railway Protection Force (RPF) along with Lucknow’s Child Welfare Committee carried out a rescue operation at Charbagh railway station and rescued 13 child labourers. Eleven children belonging to nearby slums were sent back to their homes, and two have been sent to shelter homes. These kids were involved in selling eatable items. Pouches of gutkha worth Rs 300 were recovered from a child, who later admitted before the CWC that gutkha was still being sold on railway platforms.
Agra: Female NGO owner thrashed in public
A female NGO owner was thrashed by goons and her clothes were torn off in full public view in Itmad Daulah area of Agra on Friday. The victim was beaten black and blue. The police have booked four people under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC).
Lucknow Municipal Corporation mulls sharing maintenance cost with traders
After having undertaken the renovation of Hazratganj on the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) now plans to form a special sanitation force for markets like, Qaiserbagh, Hazratganj, Aminabad and Chowk on the same model. Under this model, businessmen in these areas would be required to share the cost of sanitation and maintenance on an equal footing with the corporation. In exchange, the traders would reap the benefits of a wellmaintained and clean market in the form of more customers.
