MYSORE: A 15-and-half-year-old Nepali girl, who was rescued from a prostitution racket at a Periyapatna lodge a month ago, was handed over to her family at Balamandira on Monday.The Child Welfare Committee helped Shanti Tamang reunite with her family. Her mother Sahila Tamang and cousin Roshan Tamang said they were happy to have Shanti back in the family. Child Welfare Committee member M L Parshuram said the girl was forced into flesh trade on the pretext of getting her a job, when she had come to her sister’s house in Pune a year ago. Authorities of Odanadi Seva Samsthe, an NGO, contacted Mythri Nepal Organisation, and contacted victim’s parents and informed them to take her back.
