BANGALORE: The High Court on Friday witnessed a peculiar situation of the city police and issued a non-bailable warrant (NBW) in contempt petition on Krishna Bhat, former chairman of Vishwa Bharati House Building Cooperative Society Limited (VBHBCSL).Krishna Bhat, when he was the chairman of the society, had sold a number of sites violating the rules between 1985 to 2009.A division bench comprising Justice N Kumar and Justice Ravi Malimath was not happy with city police as the Basavanagudi police failed to arrest as Bhat, a man with influence, though the court issued a warrant against him.The court told to city police commissioner Jyothiprakash Mirji was present in the court, “Why action should not be initiated? We will not let them to break the law, nobody is beyond the law. Being a watchdog, we should do our duty. What is happening in the country, we want him arrested and produced before the court and not satisfied with your report.If you do like this, we can’t function”.The bench then issued a non-bailable warrant against Bhat and directed the city police to arrest him before on August 25 and produce before the court.
