CHENNAI: Two separate incidents of murder - both resulting out of women’s behaviour that upset their husbands - rocked the city on Friday. While a private company manager killed his wife and daughter in Ambattur Estate after finding his wife’s conduct intolerable, a 34-year-old was stabbed by her husband in Rajamangalam police limits after the former allegedly over an illicit affair with a mason. Police said Muthu Palaniappan (56) of Muthu Madhavi Street, Sastha Nagar, Karukku near Patravakkam, killed his wife Nagavalli (53) and youngest daughter Rajeshwari (32) by hitting on their heads with a crowbar and slitting their throats after he was upset and fed up with his wife’s strange behaviour of picking up fights with everyone around. The man was working as a manager in a private company at Korattur.  The couple, natives of Pudukottai, moved to Ambattur Estate limits after constructing a three-storey house seven years ago. They had three daughters Vijayalakshmi (35), Sundari (33) and Rajeshwari (32), their youngest daughter, who was said to be mentally-disturbed and living with her parents ever since she got divorced. Police sources said on Thursday evening, the 53-year-old had picked up a tiff with her neighbour over the TV volume. Later, the neighbour had complained to Muthu Palaniappan, who had returned from Rameswaram, police said. On Thursday night, the couple had picked up a fight over the issue and in a fit of rage, the man had hit his wife’s head with a crowbar and later slit her throat. He had done the same on his daughter, as he did not want her to suffer living alone. The man told his neighbour on Friday morning that he had ‘solved’ the issue and later surrendered before the police.Neighbours claimed that the woman often picked up fights and would later ask her husband to fight with the neighbours for her. In Rajamangalam limits, Murthy (38) murdered his wife Ramani (34) by stabbing on her neck after she refused to give up her illicit affair. Murthy of Kolathur, who earlier worked as a sanitation worker for the Corporation, joined a private company as a contract labourer allegedly after he suffered from a minor paralysis. The couple had two kids Ganesan (13) and Lokesh (8). On Thursday night, the man stabbed his wife while she was asleep. He surrendered before cops on Friday.
