BANGALORE: The residents of Malleswaram, will now have a new platform to have their problems addressed. On Saturday, a civic movement called ‘My Malleswaram’ kicked off to ‘micro-manage’ various problems in Malleswaram assembly constituency. The campaign seeks to address the problems of residents on each street or road by following a micro-management model to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services, cleanliness, health and civic issues. The first task of ‘My Malleswaram’ is to ensure that all residents get their Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC). MLA C N Ashwath Narayan, who launched the campaign, said that nearly 32,000 residents in Malleswaram did not have their photos in the electoral rolls.“It is important for people to have their identities intact in the electoral rolls. With regard to the EPIC drive, we can see officials going to each and every house to get the photos,” he said. He added the EPIC drive was to ensure every citizen’s right to vote. The EPIC drive is being conducted in collaboration with the Election Commission of India and Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP). “The idea is to ensure that every citizen can exercise his/her right to vote. Kannada actor and vice-chairperson of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) Jaggesh said, “I stay in Malleswaram 10th cross and I have voluntarily planted many trees. I have requested neighbours to not cut trees and not litter the area.
