Musical concert on November 18

KOCHI: Singer Devi Neithiyar will present her musical concert ‘Shraddha’  at Hotel Abad Chullickal, Mattanchery at 7 p m on November 18. Born to a Palakkad-Brahmin family, Devi started singing at the age of three, and started winning prizes at the national level by the age of five. She learned music for twenty years from the Carnatic music maestro, Dr T P Gopalakrishnan. She has been trained by Pt Krishnanand and Dr Ravindra Roy in Hindusthani and classical. Devi has also worked with some of the greatest musicians, who include famous saxophonist John Handy, Grammy award jury, Don Peake, Tony Clerk and Pt Ravi Shankar.
