Islamabad: The Election Commission of Pakistan has sent results of the presidential elections to the Cabinet Secretary on Saturday.
The Cabinet division is likely to issue the formal notification late on Saturday.
The Supreme Court, on Friday, directed the Election Commission to intimate the official results of the October 6 presidential elections, which was blocked by the former Supreme Court.
Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf was unofficially declared winner in the presidential elections.
However, his qualification to stand in the election was challenged by his opponents and opposition parties.
Despite that, all the petitions were dismissed or withdrawn over the past week, paving the way for Musharraf to take oath as civilian president for the next five-year term.
Attorney General Malik Muhammad Qayyum said on Friday that Musharraf would probably take oath as President on November 28.
Qayyum added that the Emergency is also likely to be lifted before the general elections, that are scheduled for January 8, but the President would take a decision in this regard himself.
He said that Musharraf had volunteered to take off his uniform, but there was no compulsion to do so.
