New Delhi: "A film maker is as good as the story he tells. This prized gem acquired by us from the Fox treasure cave will shock you!" said director Mahesh Bhatt. If 'Murder 3' is anything like the Spanish thriller The Hidden Face', from which it is said to be adapted, it promises to be chilling.
Randeep Hooda plays a photographer in 'Murder 3' who hooks up with a waitress (Sara Loren) who moves in with him at his manor house. But Loren soon realizes something is off as Hooda gets caught up in a complex police investigation regarding his missing former girlfriend.
This is where La Cara Oculta, which got a limited US release via Fox International, gets really interesting.
The production houses - Fox Star Studios and Vishesh Films - have acquired the official rights of the film directed by Andres Baiz. "At Fox we have access to great stories from around the world and are always evaluating which can be adapted for the Indian audiences - and having identified La Cara Oculta it was natural for us to leverage our long standing relations with Vishesh films and their strong creative sensibilities to adapt it for Indian audiences.
"Once Bhatt Saab saw this film he strongly felt that this film would be the best fit to take the Murder brand forward," Vijay Singh, CEO Fox Star Studios said in a statement
In the Colombian thriller, conductor Adrian's (Quim Gutierrez) jealous girlfriend Belen (Clara Lago) goes missing. She leaves him a videotaped message telling him that she's leaving him. Hooda is similarly being investigated about his missing girlfriend.
Belen hides inside a secret room in their house but accidentally leaves the key outside before she locks the door to watch her lover from behind a two way mirror. As her supplies run out, she sees her partner falling for another woman and desperately tries to escape her death trap.
