Residents of Mumbai’s Kandivali and Borivali areas may face a water cut on May 3 as the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will begin replacing a pipeline from Mithi Chowky junction to Mahavir Nagar junction at 10 pm on May 2. The work is expected to last 24 hours, and the pipeline will need to be emptied during this time.
An old 1200 mm pipeline will be replaced with a new one in Mahavir Nagar. This replacement will help stop leakage and improve water pressure through the new pipeline in Kandivali West.
The pipeline replacement will start from 10 pm on May 2 until 10 pm on May 3. Consequently, there will be no water supply on May 3 in areas with water timings between 1:30 am to 2:55 am in Jan Kalyan Nagar, Chattrapati Shivaji Raje complex, and the MHADA colony.
Areas with water timings between 3:40 am to 5:50 am, such as Lalji pada, K.D. compound, Gandhi Nagar, Sanjay Nagar, Bunder pakhadi, Bhabrekar nagar, MHADA Ekta Nagar, Mahavir Nagar, Irani wadi, Kandivali Gavthan, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Shankar gully, Mathurdas Marg, Shantilal Modi marg, Swami Vivekanand marg, will not have water supply. Additionally, Charkop MHADA sector 1 to 9, with water supply scheduled between 11:45 am to 2:05 pm, will also be affected, as per The Free Press Journal report.
Other areas including Poisar, Mahavir Nagar, Indira Nagar, Borsa pada Marg, SV road, with water supply scheduled from 4:30 pm to 6:45 pm, as well as Shimpoli, Mahavir Nagar, Satya Nagar, Vajira Naka, Jairaj nagar, Eksar, Sodawala gully, Yogi Nagar, and Poisar, with water supply from 7:10 pm to 9:55 pm, will not receive water on May 3.
