BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court on Monday issued notices to the secretary of Higher Education Department, the Vice Chancellor of Davangere University and the Chitradurga Postgraduation Centre coordinator for running a Master of Physical Education (MPEd) course without proper recognition.
The division bench comprising Chief Justice J S Khehar and Justice H G Ramesh, heard a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by Karibasavaraju, a Davangerebased advocate and party, who has moved the High Court against the post graduation centre for running courses without proper recognition. Karibasavaraju argued that 30 Master of Physical Education graduates, who had passed out from this centre last year, have failed to secure government jobs because the course taught at the Chitradurga Postgraduation Centre of the Davangere University is not properly recognised in the state.
