KASARGOD: The Plantation Corporation Samrakshana Samithy has warned the authorities that any move to abolish the Plantation Corporation of Kerala (PCK) would be resisted. The samithy president Gangadharan said in a statement on Thursday that the revenue authorities were conducting survey of the land owned by the PCK for various purposes. The anti-endosulfan action committee had said that the entire PCK land had endosulfan residues. But the special fact finding committee appointed by the Central University of Kerala had submitted its report that there was no endosulfan residues in the 310 acres of land proposed to be acquired for the Central University. The samithy wondered where all the endosulfan residues had gone when the land was proposed for the acquisition for the Central University. The anti-endosulfan activists have been collecting funds from the Gulf countries ostensibly for the ‘so-called’ victims of endosulfan.Gangadharan told ‘Express’ that an anti-endosulfan group had misled the media that it had submitted an affidavit in the Supreme Court on behalf of the victims. What the group had done was to send a letter to the Supreme Court judges demanding ban on endosulfan. He said the rehabilitation of the ‘so-called’ endosufan victims has become a mockery with so many people with ordinary diseases claiming the compensation.Gangandharan said the political leaders who had led the anti-endosulfan agitation now have said that there were no endosulfan residues in the land proposed to be acquired for the Central University. But these leaders  maintained at the same time that there were endosulfan residues in other sprayed areas.
