BANGALORE: With a purpose to put combined efforts to deliver a coherent development of women in the state, the Federation of Karnataka Chambers Trade and Commerce (FKCCI) and Karnataka State Women Development Corporation (KSWDC) entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here on Wednesday.FKCCI president J R Bangera and chairperson of KSWDC, Sarojini Bharadwaja inked the MOU. Both the organisations have agreed to share infrastructure, expertise and know-how in areas of organising fairs, exhibitions, functions, organise seminars and workshops to bring out the entrepreneurial services of the women in the state.Speaking at the event, Sarojini Bharadwaja, said “It is proven from research that women have more potential to work. This MOU is a sign of goodwill as with the help of FKCCI we can start small industries and reach out to the rural women. We earlier had problems in marketing the products we produce but now with this MOU, we (FKCCI and KSWDC) will be able to over come that hurdle and strengthen the women force in the state.”J R Bangera said, “We will together explore the opportunities for the development of women in the state. There is huge demand overseas for the products. We are planning to visit some of the countries like Europe and Srilanka to look into the possibilities of marketing the products there. We want to take this opportunity to empower women.”
