Monsoon swings in, not expected to last long: reports
The monsoon brings rains to Indian crops that depend on it.

New Delhi: The bad monsoon is a big worry in the bread basket states in north-west India. People from all walks of live are concerned not only about water shortage, food scarcity but also for the prices of commodities shooting up.

The monsoon tracking exercise has revealed that rain or thundershowers are expected at a few places in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

Isolated rains also expected in Rajasthan, Konkan, Goa, Marathwada and central Maharashtra will also witness rain over the next two days, but the spell may not stretch for too long.

Rains are also predicted by the weatherman for the Gujarat region and Saurashtra over the next 24 hours.

Kutch may experience isolated rain or thundershowers during the next 24 hours and the surrounding areas thereafter.
