CHENNAI: Managing Director of Midas Golden Distilleries Pvt Ltd and close associate of Sasikala, ‘Midas’ Mohan, was on Sunday arrested following a cheating complaint against him by a Vellore-based businessman. Mohan was picked up from his residence in Thiruvanmiyur, after Hari Tulsiram (50) of Chinna Sankarapalayam in Vellore district alleged in his complaint to the Commissioner of Police that the accused promised to get him a good post in the AIADMK. In the hope of getting it, he paid `50 lakh to Mohan in November last. “Tulsiram is a member of the local AIADMK unit,” Investigating Officer Sivakumar said. Tulsiram alleged that the promised post never materialised and when he demanded his money, Mohan threatened him. Sources said Midas Golden Distilleries Pvt Ltd was a supplier of Indian-Made Foreign Spirit to the state-run Tasmac units.
