BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police on Saturday conducted raids at eight places including the residence of Rajarajeshwarinagar MLA M Srinivas, his son and BBMP Corporator Venkatesh Babu and other associates in connection with a disproportionate assets case.The raids were conducted following a private complaint filed by one Dinesh Kallahalli against the MLA and his family members alleging that Srinivas and his family have amassed wealth disproportionate to their known sources of income.The searches were conducted under the supervision of P K Shivashankara, Superintendent of Police, City Division, Karnataka Lokayukta. During the raids, it was found that Srinivas was in possession of a 50x40 house at Jayanagar VII Block, a commercial complex at Uttarahalli, a 50x80 BDA site at Nagarbhavi, two industrial sheds at Konanakunte Cross, documents pertaining to a school on Kanakapura Main Road, lands registered in his name and that of his associates, Rs 1 lakh cash, 690 grams of gold, Rs 54.06 lakh deposits at different bank accounts and incriminating documents pertaining to houses and land, a press release from the anti-corruption agency stated.Srinivas’ son Venkatesh Babu was found to possess 16.19 acres of land in and around Kaggalipura, documents regarding a flat at Kanakapura Main Road and  four industrial sheds, three cars, a tractor, Rs 47,500 cash, 2 kg gold, 37 gms ruby, one carat diamond, 10 kg of silver and documents related to houses and land.The documents related to houses and lands were also found at the residences of Srinivas’s associates, Rajanna and Nagaraja Rao. The release said that the residence of Srinivas’s associate Rashmi D’Souza residence was locked during the raids.Dinesh Kallahalli who filed the complaint had alleged that the value of Srinivas’ assets is over Rs 300 crore and had declared less assets while filing nomination papers for election.Others named in the case are his wife Ratnamma, son Venkatesh Babu and daughter-in-law.
