Meet on crime against women from November 29

MYSORE:  All India Mahila Samskruthika Sanghatane (AIMSS) will organise a national convention on ‘Crime Against Women’ at Ravindra Kalakshetra in Bangalore on November 29 and 30.AIMSS Mysore district President Sandhya P S said that separate workshops on various types of crimes against women will be held at the two-day convention.Eminent personalities from various fields will speak on topics like female foeticide, domestic violence, dowry harassment, acid attack, eve-teasing, honour killing, rape and harassment at work place. She said the convention will discuss on preparing the women on how to check the incidents of crime against them through awareness programmes and others. Over 1,000 representatives from more than 20 states are expected to participate in the convention. Justice M N Venkatachalaiah, former Chief Justice of India, will inaugurate the convention. Supreme Court judges B N Srikrishna and former chief justice of Madras High Court Subashana Reddy will be the chief guests while AIMSS president Chaya Mukherji will preside.
