Doha: Indian runner Manjeet Kaur won a silver medal in womens' 400 metres at the XVth Asian Games at Doha on Sunday.
Kazakhstan's Olga Tereshkova won the gold clocking 51.86 while Manjeet clocked 52.17 to come second.
India's other contender Pinki Paramanik was at the second place till the last 20 metres but could not maintain the pace managing to finish only fourth.
Japan's Tanno Asami stood third beating Pinki by .06 secs.
In the qualifying race for the final Pinki had a better time clocking 53.90s whereas Manjeet finished with 53.95 sec.
Boxing
Boxer Vijender won a bronze in the Middleweight 75 kgs category.
He went down to Kazakhstan's Artayev Bakhtiyar in the semi-final but not without putting up a fight.
Vijender had 24 points to 29 scored by Bakhtiyar.
