Man stabs wife after tiff

HYDERABAD: A woman was murdered by her 55-year-old husband over a petty family dispute in presence of their son at Saroornagar on Friday morning.The deceased Mohammada Bhanu (45) was married to Mohammed Mujheebuddin and the couple are residents of Kodandaram Nagar under Saroornagar police limits.Mujheebuddin used to regularly come home in a drunken state and quarrel with his wife over domestic problems."Around 10.30 a.m on Friday, Mujheebuddin picked up an argument with his wife over a petty issue.As tempers ran high, Mujheebuddin picked up a vegetable knife and stabbed his wife in the chest.The knife pierced through Bhanu's heart and she died instantly,'' Saroornagar police inspector K Purnachandar Rao said.The couple's eldest son Abdul Raheem, a 18-yearold- boy, was studying but he could not come to his mother's rescue."He did not suspect his father could resort to such an extreme step as the couple used to quarrel frequently,'' police said.Mujheebuddin was reportedly taken into custody for questioning over his wife’s death.Saroornagar police registered a case of murder and are investigating it.
