An interior designer from Perungalathur was arrested from Palakkad in Kerala for allegedly sending obscene and threatening text messages to a woman police inspector, on Sunday. The accused, K Ramakrishnan (35), separated from his wife Janaki two years back, police said. Two months ago, Ramakrishnan submitted a petition to the Chief Minister’s cell, seeking help to reunite with his wife. His petition was forwarded to the All Women Police Station at Madipakkam.
When an inspector subsequently asked him to report for investigation, Ramakrishnan allegedly refused to visit the station. He told the inspector that he already mentioned all the details in the petition and that it was the duty of the police to help him reunite with his wife. When the inspector then told him that his wife had expressed her willingness to live with him, Ramakrishnan allegedly began sending obscene and threatening messages to the woman police personnel.
One of the text messages also mentioned the CM, police said. After the inspector informed a senior police official about the incident, a police team traced Ramakrishna and arrested him.
