KOCHI: Mahila Congress activists waved black flags at Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan at the Aluva guest house in protest against his remark on Sindhu Joy. The activists, led by Mahila Congress state president Bindu Krishna, were later arrested by the police. Achuthanandan alleged that the protesters could have gained entry into the guest house premises only with the help of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. “All these can happen only under the Chandy government,” he said. The police remained mute spectators, he added.CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan who was also present at the Guest House with Achuthanandan, told reporters that there was nothing wrong in Achuthanandan’s remarks and hence there was no need for an apology. He said the Congress had misinterpreted the remark. Achuthanandan had only remarked about a person once active in politics and later disappearing from it.
