HYDERABAD: Describing the Congress as a party of ‘Ayarams and Gayarams’, Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu has come down heavily on it for sucking the blood of the people of the state by encouraging sales of liquor. Addressing a meeting at NTR Bhavan on the occasion of the death anniversary of party founder NT Rama Rao, Naidu said PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana, who doubles up as a minister, had shamelessly admitted that he had 31 liquor shops and on top of it had put forth the argument that there was nothing wrong in having so many shops.“How could one family have so many shops? There is no answer to this question,” Naidu said.He said what was causing concern was the rampant corruption in the state and the attitude of the Congress leaders who appeared more bothered about amassing wealth rather than caring for the poor and disadvantaged sections.“Several mafia are ruling the roost. There are mafia which control business of sand and liquor and those which grab lands,” he said.Referring to the YSR Congress Party, he said YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had never wanted to serve people.“His only intention and ambition is to become the chief minister. When it was denied, he formed the YSR Congress. If the Congress offers it, he would gladly go back to the Congress,” he said.
