BHUBANESWAR: The day-light murder of autorickshaw driver Alekh Pradhan near Bhubaneswar Railway Station may have a love angle to it, preliminary investigation has suggested.A day after the shocking incident, SP (Railways) Bhagyadhar Behera inspected the crime scene and supervised the progress of investigation.Pradhan was stabbed to death by a gang of six just outside the Bhubaneswar Railway Station on Friday afternoon. Government Railway Police seem to have zeroed in on two of them and found that a love triangle might have led to the murder.Pradhan, a native of Nayagarh’s Khandapara, had a fight with a group of people who were consuming liquor in his vehicle before the murder. Investigation reveals that he had acquaintance with them, particularly, the person called Pappu, who owns a small hotel.Pradhan and Pappu were apparently in love with the same woman who used to alight at Bhubaneswar Railway Station. Police suspect she used to have food at Pappu’s hotel and take Pradhan’s autorickshaw. The two had a tiff over the female in the past too.On Saturday, when Pradhan returned to his vehicle after lunch, he apparently found Pappu and two others having alcohol in the autorickshaw. He had an altercation with his “rival” and it intensified. Soon after, Pappu went away only to return with more friends and a kitchen knife using which he stabbed the auto driver. However, GRP is yet to nab anyone in this connection.
