NEYYATINKARA: Reading out the declaration in the name of God, F Lawrence, the CPM candidate for Neyyattinkara bypoll, filed his nomination papers on Thursday before Assistant Returning Officer S Sanoob, who is also the Perumkadavila Block Development Officer. Lawrence was accompanied by CPM politburo member M A Baby, former minister Neelalohithadasan Nadar, CPM district secretary Kadakampally Surendran and state committee member M Vijayakumar. He filed two sets of papers and Neyyatinkara former MLA S R Thankraj seconded it. CPM Neyyatinkara constituency secretary C K Hareendran is the dummy candidate. As per the papers filed, Lawrence, 49, does not own a house and there is no criminal cases pending against him. Together with his wife and two dependents, Lawrence owns movable and immovable properties worth Rs 31,22,554. He has Rs 5,000 as cash in hand and a gold ring of one sovereign worth Rs 20,000. He has an insurance policy of Rs 1,00,000. His fixed deposits in the four accounts at LMS Employees Cooperative Society, Neyyatinkara, is worth Rs 3,00,000. Savings Bank account in the same Society has Rs 87,474; at the Catholic Syrian Bank Rs 8,700 and at the Federal Bank Rs 25,000. The recurring deposit at the Parsuvaykkal Post Office has Rs 14,380. Lawrence’s wife has gold ornaments of 30 sovereigns worth Rs 6,00,000, an insurance policy of Rs 1,25,000 and a 95-model Maruti 800 car worth Rs 60,000. Though she has an account at Neyyatinkara SBT, it has no cash balance. But she has pledged gold worth Rs 3,00,000 in the same bank. She has a property in Keezharur village worth Rs 2,50,000. The two dependents of Lawrence has gold ornaments of two-and-a-half sovereigns worth Rs 50,000. Lawrence has one share in the family property of 1.76 acres of land, among seven members, in Karod village worth Rs 15,00,000.
