Bungalow At Centre of ED Probe

In the middle of several hundred ‘bighas’ of vacant land in Narayanpur Mauza of Ghutiari Sharif of Canning-2, a green two-storied bungalow belonging to Sandip Ghosh has fueled the alleged financial scam probe at RG Kar Hospital.

The locals claimed that the bungalow, named ‘Sangeeta Sandip Villa’, belongs to Ghosh as they spotted him visiting the place with his wife and family. They added that Sandip Ghosh named the bungalow after his and his wife’s name- Sangeeta Ghosh, reported local media outlet, Ananda Bazar.

Sandip’s name came to the fore after the investigation linked to a female medic’s rape and murder case highlighted illegal activities during Ghosh’s tenure as principal of the government-run institution.

He served as the principal of the Hospital from February 2021 to September 2023. In October last year, he was transferred, but within a month, his appointment was reinstated to the position which he held until the day the young trainee doctor was raped and murdered in the facility.
