BANGALORE: The High Court on Wednesday appointed Col Bhupendra Singh as court commissioner to conduct a probe into land grab allegation in Yelhanka.
The petitioners, Devaki, Iqbal Hussain and N Archana all from economically weaker sections, in their submission, stated that the government had allotted 47 sites near Chikkabettahalli in Yelahanka Hobli with title deed under Indira Awas Yojana to EWS in 2002, but recently a school has come up in the area claiming that the land was granted to them. To clear the confusion, Justice Manjula Chellur, appointed Col Bhupendra Singh to take charge as court commissioner to probe into land grab allegation and directed DC and urban development department secretary to give him security to investigate the case and ordered to maintain status quo further orders. She also directed the Bangalore north executive officer to submit the land allotment list.
