Applications have been invited for five courses that are newly introduced by the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS).
Three of the newly introduced courses are the first of its kind in the country.
“MBA: fisheries management, finance, marketing, human resources and rural management, MSc in physical oceanography and ocean modelling, and MSc in biological oceanography and biodiversity are new in the country,” said KUFOS Vice- Chancellor B Madhusoodhana Kurup.
The two-year MBA programme will follow the credit and semester system with a total credit of 84; 66 credits for compulsory papers and 18 credits for elective courses.
Of the 35 seats, three are reserved for fishermen community and two for students from Andaman, Nicobar and Lakshadweep islands.
The course fee is Rs 45,700.
The admission to the course will be based on a management admission test to be conducted by the varsity.
Ten seats are available in MSc physical and 25 in MSc biological oceanography and biodiversity and the admission will be based on an entrance examination, interview and academic performance.
The fee for both courses is Rs 47,000.
The admission for the two MFSc courses with two seats each will be through entrance examination.
The fee for first semester is Rs 5,880 and for the second semester Rs 4,465. Twenty five per cent of the seats will be reserved for the eligible candidates sponsored by the ICAR based on an all-India entrance examination to be conducted by them.
