K'taka: Lokayukta police raids IAS officer
The Karnataka Lokayukta police acted on a report carried by CNN-IBN on malnutrition deaths in Raichur.

New Delhi: The Karnataka Lokayukta police raided the house of an IAS officer and other officials of the Women and Child Welfare Department after CNN-IBN reported on malnutrition deaths in Raichur.

The ADGP of the Lokayukta Police said, "We had credible information that the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) run by Women and Child Department was not functioning properly..."

"The quality of food was not good. We conducted raids at 10 places... Three houses of senior officers were raided... huge assets were recovered... Several incriminating documents have been seized.

"We even seized samples of food supplies... We might arrest them if necessary," he added.
